Dinner at Bakerzin.
won't comment too much on pastas because they aren't the main attraction.
chicken curry.
chicken consomme. really small portion, not worth the money. tasted alright but still not worth the money.
aglio olio spaghetti. didn't try this so i don't know.
linguini in mushroom cream sauce. i like cream pastas :) but this can be bought at pastamania, once again, not worth the money.
seafood pasta. ohkay because it came with seafood! jeri and i shared this.
ham & bacon penne in pink sauce (which is tomato and cream sauce mixed i suppose).
DESSERTS!
sweet indulgence- cake with hazelnut praline cream and cakey bottom, all in between thin chocolate wafers. :)
sumatra- jasmine's birthday cake. sumatra coffee-infused chocolate mousse interior covered with a smooth layer of chocolate. :)
chocolate crunch- spongy cake which tastes like muffin and cupcake. didn't really eat much of this, i'm not into spongy cakes.
Coeur Noir- dark chocolate coating, mousse with brandy cherries (tasted brandy but didn't see cherries) and hazelnut base.
lavende- mousse cake with lavender infused dark chocolate coating. :)
to bring home, my first box of macaroons! - pistachio, coffee and Ispahan.
they're all a tad bit too sweet, but still nice.
pictures of innards. pink one is rose-scented. diameter of about 3-4cm.
go for the desserts!
pure indulgence, at SHAvilla
pure indulgence, at SHAvilla
air flown veggies with mango salsa dressing, cherry tomatoes with bacon bits and mayo, prawn cocktail in pastry basket
mocktail
sorbet- pineapple mint yoghurt
entree- baked norwegian salmon with dill sauce and oriental rice
mango mousse with a tinge of strawberry, with sable and honeycomb
dim sum muffins and fruits
dim sum!
dim sum buffet at excelsior hotel (next to peninsula hotel)
price: $14.2 inclusive of ++ and misc. charges
dim sum not very good the skin were quite dry for some steamed stuff and they don't have CHEECHEONGFAN! and the fried rice was bad (though i didnt taste it). the mango pudding was alright. the service was laupok generally. all in all, i think the marina hawker centre dim sum is better and tastier and for hawker centre standard, its good already :) -hawker centre is opposite parkway parade
of muffins and fruits!
chopped mars bars
batter + honey swirl
the little muffin babies before entering the oven
this is where magic happens .....
......and also where mutation occurs. the little innocent white lumpy babies mutate into a freakish alien-like blooping mount that spew over and out of their confined spaces.
all done! YUMMM! (some of them brown stuff look like skin burns don't they? ok these are much better and are mars bar pieces)
indulging.
mangoes honeydew and seedless watermelon. :)
pancakes, batter leftover from muffins
bread and butter pudding
today i made bread and butter pudding!
recipe from the the
betty crocker site(modified it)
raisins inside and out. drizzled with maple syrup to sweeten
innards
yay and it turned out the perfect colour and taste! :) not bad for my first attempt and b&b pudding. :D yummmm
new york new york
new york new york at city link mall. lime green sofa seats everywhere! :) at the back are square "cubicle"-like dining spaces and where we sat was a u-shaped table with u-shaped seats of course. COMFY! no one really sits on the round little apple seats :(
the menu. my turkey and cranberry sandwich with foccacia bread. though the innards look messed up and mushed here, it's actually quite nice. the bread was done almost perfect, grilled and crunchy. but the bottom white part of the bread was a little soggy.
note that you should not order drinks unless you are in a spending money mood. because drinks are priced almost equally as the meals themselves. $6.90/$7.90 for a drink alone is ripoff.(that was how much my sandwich cost)
for the vege people, there are diet-friendly meals but those are usually the un-meat and full of vegetables/mushrooms.
but i don't mind going there again to try more stuff on the menu :)
marks and spencers. milk chcolate eclairs to share among everyone in the group, percy pigs for study company, sour cream and onion pretzels for fun.
icecream
6 tubs of icecream and 2 tubs of yoghurt. dairy overdose. yes i have that in my fridge now though the rum raisin and black cherry yoghurt's gone. i never had so much icecream in the freezer before.
haagen daz is by far the best icecream. it's true that the 'mouthfeel' is better than other brands. i figured why. haagen daz icecream is more, shall i say, compact. most icecreams have a soft fluffy texture caused by air bubbles. but this is different, this is smooth. i've also learnt if food chem that the improved 'mouthfeel' can be attributed to the extra fats. fats improve texture. but there's not much difference if you compare. the summer berries and cream is the new flavour on the block and it's yummy, it's like the sweeter version of yoghurt. :) due to miscommunication, strawberry cheesecake flavour is absent. :(
sorbet story is well, sorbet-like and refreshing too bad they don't have the peach one. try the stick version of peach and white tea. sorbet story is good because it has 0g fats and is fruity!
dreyer's icecream is good for the mega sweet tooths. it's sweet and had sinful flavours like "french vanilla fudge cake" and chocolate cake. chocolate cake is my favourite. french vanilla fudge is just cookies and cream plus fudge swirls. no big deal.
photo collection of photo-worthy foodstuff over the past month or so.
1.evan's birthday cakes
2.pillsbury waffles (i love doughboy!)
3.. waffles with icecream. so cute the waffle come with a doughboy print.
4 & 5. brownie squares from the brownie factory. the fudge brownie is the best! i'm not a big fan of the cake-like texture brownies.
6. nature valley crunchy granola bars. beats quaker chewy granolas! plus it's cheaper too. comes in a 2pack. 6 packs in a box. buy from ntuc it's more expensive elsewhere.
7&8. yihui's cheese brownie birthday cake. the goodness of cheesecake and brownies packed into one. it's a 2 in 1! and it ROCKSSS! store located somewhere at sin ming. mnm's not included
9. light strawberry cake homemade by chongkiat, the up and coming aspc chef. hahah
